چکیده
1 Rehabilitation following lumbar fusion surgery: a systematic review and meta-analysis. Introduction; Lumbar fusion surgery (LFS) is undertaken to rigidly stabilise adjacent vertebral motion segments. LFS is commonly performed simultaneously with decompression of affected neural tissue, to relieve back and/or neurogenic leg pain [1-3]. Common surgical indications include spondylolisthesis, disc disease and stenosis [4-6].

متن کاملDescription and design considerations of a randomized clinical trial investigating the effect of a multidisciplinary cognitive-behavioural intervention for patients undergoing lumbar spinal fusion surgery
BACKGROUND The ideal rehabilitation strategy following lumbar spinal fusion surgery has not yet been established. This paper is a study protocol, describing the rationale behind and the details of a cognitive-behavioural rehabilitation intervention for lumbar spinal fusion patients based on the best available evidence. Predictors of poor outcome following spine surgery have been identified to p...

BACKGROUND Lumbar spine fusion (LSF) effectively decreases pain and disability in specific spinal disorders; however, the disability rate following surgery remains high. This, combined with the fact that in Western countries the number of LSF surgeries is increasing rapidly it is important to develop rehabilitation interventions that improve outcomes. METHODS/DESIGN In the present RCT-study w...
